In addition to on-demand mentorship, Meritorious also hosts virtual Mentor Connect events that provide professionals, executives, and business owners with the opportunity to connect with active duty personnel, transitioning veterans, and military spouses for mentorship, career, and entrepreneurship guidance.
Recently, Mentor Connect was sponsored by Magpul, a renowned American manufacturer of high-quality firearm accessories, clothing, and gear, well-known for its commitment to the military community, especially veterans. The company actively hires veterans, participates in events that support military personnel and their families, and has created “Magpul for Vets,” a program offering exclusive discounts and promotions to veterans and their families. Magpul’s dedication to serving those who have served their country has earned the company a loyal following within the military community.
The event welcomed over 100 attendees and featured guest speakers, Scott Creed, US Marine Corps Veteran, Director of Marketing at Magpul, and Jim Thomas, US Army Veteran, and Digital Product Manager at Magpul, who shared their personal transition journeys, career tips, and industry trends affecting the firearms industry. The event also had 22 mentors, including executives, hiring managers, small business advisors, and nonprofit leaders, as curated by Meritorious.
